What you are is an ordinary person. Taxes hit you hard. You are told that you have to sacrifice to conserve energy. You can’t get your child into a private school. You are afraid to express your opinions because you might be called a right wing conspirator. You can lose your job and your reputation by being called a racist or a sexist. The things that Sean Penn and Michael Moore and Ted Kennedy can do you can’t, and the things that threaten you don’t threaten them, and this state of affairs bothers you. And you are not satisfied by the argument that society is made a better place when ordinary people are unfairly put upon while elites are free to pursue their destinies.
